NewBub Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

NewBub ("we", "us") is a baby-tracking app operated by [legal name], [address], [EU country] ("data controller"). Contact: privacy@newbub.app.

The short version

In OFFLINE MODE, NewBub collects no personal data at all. Everything stays on your device and we cannot see it.

In SYNC MODE, we store the data you enter (about you and your baby) on servers in the EU, only to provide sync and sharing. We never sell data, never share it for advertising, and use no advertising or tracking SDKs.

What we collect and why

Offline mode

Nothing. Data is stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.

Sync mode (requires sign-in and your explicit consent)

Legal basis (GDPR)

Care records may reveal information about your child's health. We process them only with your EXPLICIT CONSENT (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you give as the holder of parental responsibility when enabling sync mode. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (below) or switching to offline use. Account data (e-mail, login) is processed to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Who can access the data

Retention and deletion

Data is kept until you delete it. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account, or https://discofontein.space/newbub/delete-account) permanently removes your account and all baby and event data from our servers within 30 days, including backups on their rotation schedule.

Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, and erase your data, and to withdraw consent at any time: privacy@newbub.app. You may also complain to your data-protection authority. You exercise these rights on your child's behalf as their parent or guardian.

Children

NewBub is made for adults (parents and caregivers). We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and the app is not directed to children. Records about your baby are entered and controlled by you. Because care records are entered by parents rather than collected from children, the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) does not apply to NewBub.

United States residents

Care records are "consumer health data" under some U.S. state laws. Our standalone Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy — https://discofontein.space/newbub/health-privacy — describes what we collect, how it is used, and your rights to access, withdraw consent, and delete under the Washington My Health My Data Act and Nevada law. In short: we collect it only to provide the service, we never sell it or share it for advertising, and you can delete it at any time. The rights and deletion mechanisms in this policy are available to all users regardless of state.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Server access is restricted per household through database-level row security. In offline mode, security is that of your device.

Changes

We will post changes here and, for material changes to sync mode, ask for renewed consent in the app.
